Fixed a bug that allowed some players to bypass teleportation portals.

Circumstantial, but highly likely in my opinion. It's when my problems began, and judging by the date of all the recent error posts, everyone else's.

I have seen no ANet acknowledgment that their recent update has any connection to the slew of Error 007's (and 58's) that has been visited upon the Guild Wars Community.

A standard reply from ANet on the Error 7's simply states that all Error 7's are "unique" to the individual account and bear no relation to the game servers.

I have my doubts as to the accuracy of that statement.

To tell the truth the bug had been around for a while it was just recently that players started to exploit it. I have some screenshots of one of my characters in several zones where I had bypassed the portal. In saying that since the update the only way I can get out of most towns is to go to the last district with several of my characters now. Frustating as all get out to try and convince the whole group to do that just so I can stay with them.

They have begun fixing the errors as I was getting the Error 058's since 11th but as of three twenty three on the (PST) on the 15th I no longer got the errors..

You are missing the point.

I am not talking about the "bypass teleportation portals" bug...I am talking about a new problem introduced with a "fix' for the bug in a recent game update.

You know, the old fix something and break something else thing?

Well I haven't had any err7 issues from portals. In fact, I haven't err7'ed since before reconnects were added.

I have. In fact, I brought that frustration up earlier today with my guild members and they also reported having the same experience.

When leaving a town or outpost, there can occur (not always) a 007 disconnect error. It has only been this week that such frequent events have happened, leading on to conclude that with the January 11 update, something happened game-wide.

I have had this problem numerous times. Sometimes it will happen at random, sometimes repeatedly in the same portal. For quite a while I was unable to enter lahtenda bog.

Perhaps there was a "background" fix from ANet...or maybe my luck has improved because my error 7's have stopped (at least for my last 2 hour play session). I guess I'll see if my luck holds.

Sometimes portal Error 7 is town specific. For example I kept getting it in Kaineng Center but not in other towns when I map travel to them. As a walk around I'd switch characters jump a portal and then log back on the character in Kaineng Center and port normally.

I've been getting these problems too. I haven't read through this whole topic, but I've found something that seems to work some of the time.

If you're going outside with heroes/henchies, first of all, when you get into the town, do not target ANYONE. Other players, NPCs, the signs, nothing. Add your party members with the party search (P key) and try to leave town. I find that this USUALLY works for me. It's not guaranteed, but when I do it, I make it out more times than I don't. So try that out for help. It worked for me, and when a guildie was having the same problem, I told him the above solution, it worked for him as well.
